POLLUTION
~ Pollution is a chemical form that is not good for nature. Pollution doesn't come from just power plants, they also come from a huge mess of objects too. In other words, every load of dump is called trash. It also creates pollution based on the chemicals they have. Pollution can appears in any types. Those types are particulate matter and smog. Particulate Matter is the type of chemical scent from solid and liquid forms that's transparent and cannot be seen but can only smell it. Smog is a chemical that takes the form of a fog that resembles a cloud. For smog, it often comes from power plants.
~ Another source of pollution comes from the smell of tobacco. For instance, Rhode Island's streets in neighborhoods contain cigarettes on the floor. According to an article "Trash Nation", Kimberly Rea argues "[a]ttracting rodents and pests and polluting our rivers and lakes, dumping has become everyone's problem" (117). This is why everyone should be aware of Rhode Island's pollution that will get more worst if people keeps leaving every cigarette on public lands. Some even say that global warming is also the cause of pollution. According to "Our Health At Risk?" by Elizabeth Ridlington and Travis Madsen, they said "global warming may worsen smog and potentially particulate pollution" (20).

~ Even by today's standards, people still dump their trash around public areas. If people in a community don't educate children about, then it will lead to creating more litterbugs across the world who don't think of people, animals, and their land. In other words, it will also affect a country state's air pollution for days and even attracts rats, bugs, etc. in public areas and it's properties such as buildings, trash bins, etc.

Another problem to be addressed is the misuse of plastic bags. Plastic bags are created from factories approved by administrators. They were handed out to stores and supermarkets to put in food, drinks, and other items. Plastic bags can contain many items depends on how much weigh it has, but in one instance, they can easily break. As one says, plastic bags are considered to have dangerous effect. However, it's not just the plastic bags themselves are dangerous, it's the responsibility of a person who uses it incorrectly.
On March 2019, in New Hampshire at a beach, a tortoise was walking by minding it's own business. At 2 pm, as the tortoise continued walking near the water, it saw a plastic bag laying on the ground. Unfortunately, it thought the plastic bag was a jellyfish. For tortoises, they see jellyfishes as prey. In other words, tortoises sees them as food. After considering it food, it accidentally ate a plastic bag. Unknowingly to the tortoise, the effects of the plastic bag inside it's stomach will create the type of chemicals that can resemble poison to stomach acid, which gotten worse through little time. At first, the tortoise was fine, but as a few hours passed, it slowly died. This shocked and hurt the people in New Hampshire. As the government got word of the tortoise's death, they decided to ban plastic bags from every stores and supermarkets.
What I think about plastic bags is they still have a purpose in life. People can just place plastic bags in personal trash bins for bedrooms, offices, classrooms, etc. After their trash bins are full, they can throw them in every city's big sized garbage disposal. With that method, no one will have to worry about having to throw it at a big size garbage disposal.

Pollution doesn't just affect air in public areas, but it also affect water as well. That's another type of pollution called water pollution. It also comes from any trash and objects with chemicals. That includes empty plastic bottles and metal objects. "On land and at sea, these plastics gather and become hazards for wildlife and have polluted waters as far away as the Arctic Ocean." ("Bags Be Banned? They're bad for the Earth, but are the alternatives any better?"). That is why as a community who loves animal life, they will not tolerate irresponsible use of plastic bags.

~ Bad pollution affects human life such as children, pregnant women, and senior citizens. It also affects animals as well.

~ Why it should be addressed is to report any polluted activities right away. In order to stop more trash from increasing and preventing polluted days from coming, communities must bring violators to justice from littering. Regardless of how rare is pollution still around in some states, it should not be ignored from the human eye. If the community doesn't stand up against the status of how dirty their state is, then who will? If all communities in Rhode Island can gather together to spread the word, it can help prevent unhealthy smog pollution days from happening and for all living beings to enjoy life more frequently than before.
